1. Finance Committee - This committee includes Excel’s business manager and board treasurer, and it reviews the budget and makes recommendations for any needed adjustments, assesses enrollment requirements, reviews annual compensation for staff and makes recommendations to the board regarding any needed adjustments. An Ad Hoc sub-committee may be initiated from this committee to address fundraising in collaboration with PTO. (Staff & board members only)

2. School Accountability Committee - This committee reviews student achievement data, helps the executive director create the annual Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) and develops the annual Parent Satisfaction Survey and Staff Satisfaction Survey. SAC committee will create and maintain a dashboard to evaluate how Excel compares to other comparable schools and the district on KPIs. (Staff & Parents)

3. Technology Committee - Includes Excel’s technology coordinator; this committee assesses technology needs of the school and makes corresponding recommendations; committee also reviews technology services contracts. (Staff & Parents)

4. Facilities Committee - Includes the Excel’s facilities manager; this committee oversees building maintenance and construction. (Staff & Parents)

5. Jeffco Charter Schools Consortium (JCSC) - The Jeffco Charter School Consortium is a loose-knit means for all Jefferson County R-1 School District charter schools to communicate about issues.

6. Governance Committee - The governance committee is commissioned by and responsible to the Excel Charter School Board to assume the primary responsibility for matters pertaining to Board recruitment, nominations, orientation, training, and evaluation in accordance with the school’s bylaws, as well as established policies and practices approved by the Board. The governance committee will also support the ED and staff regarding curriculum review that Excel is considering adopting. (Staff & Parents)

8. Community Engagement - The Community Engagement committee is tasked with evaluating school marketing, recruitment for new students, external public relations, student and staff retention, and collaboration with the Excel PTO to cultivate positive attitudes within the school, as well as promoting the benefits to the larger community. As of 11/19/2022 this committee will also strive to support our middle school community stability and positive well being.
