7/8 Parent Teacher Conference Information

The 7/8 middle school team is excited to meet with you at conferences.  As a parent, you are your child’s first and most important teacher, so we have something in common: we both want your child to learn and do well.

Thursday 10/17 conferences will be from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM and again from 5:35 PM - 7:45 PM

Friday 10/18 conferences will be from 9:00 AM-noon.

We’ve listened to suggestions from the Excel community and have made some positive changes for this year.  There will be no scheduled times, and there will be more private room settings. Come when it fits your schedule and meet with the teachers you need to meet with.  Keep in mind that Thursday evening may be very busy and wait times may be long. Teachers will be dismissed at 8:00 PM.

Conferences will be held in the following rooms:

Room 316 Mrs. Haberman (science) and Mrs. Ruiz (social studies)

Room 317 Mrs. Petcoff (geometry & math 8)  and Mr. Thorner (Algebra and math 7)

Room 318 Mrs. Mekelburg (writing) and Mrs. Bortner (literacy)

Room 319 Ms. Dooling (Spanish) and SEL educators (Mrs Puckett will be there until 3pm Ms. Taylor will be out until then)

Room 205       Ms. Moore

All specials/electives teachers will be in their regular rooms.

We want to respect everyone’s time during conferences, so please limit your conversation in each room to 5-10 minutesIf you feel you need more time than this with a teacher please contact them right away to schedule another time to meet.  Reminders to keep to time will be in each room to try and alleviate wait time in the halls.  In order to make the most of your time in each room, here is a list to help you prepare.
